Soft, glossy 3D icons and friendly mascots are everywhere in modern brand design: in app screens, carousel slides, highlight covers and ads. AI makes them quick to create. Here are prompts for icons, mascots and full sets.
The 3D icon prompt recipe
“A 3D icon of [object], [style: glossy, clay, plastic, glass], [color palette], soft studio lighting, isolated on a [background], centered, [aspect ratio].”
Icon prompts
- “A cute 3D icon of a calendar with a checkmark, glossy plastic, coral and cream colors, soft lighting, isolated on a pale background.”
- “A 3D clay-style icon of a shopping bag, pastel mint, rounded edges, soft shadow.”
- “A glass morphism 3D icon of a lightbulb, frosted glass with orange glow, dark background.”
- “A 3D icon of a house with a key, soft matte finish, navy and gold.”
- “A 3D icon of a dumbbell, bold lime green, glossy, isolated.”
- “A 3D icon of a chat bubble with three dots, soft blue, inflated balloon style.”
- “A 3D icon of a coffee cup with steam, warm brown and cream, clay style.”
- “A 3D icon of a rocket launching, playful toy style, bright primary colors.”
Making a consistent icon set
Keep everything except the object identical across prompts: style, colors, lighting and background. Then generate each icon separately. If your tool supports style references, use your first icon as the reference for the rest.
Set template: “A 3D icon of [object], soft matte clay style, terracotta and cream palette, soft studio lighting, isolated on a cream background, centered, square.”
Mascot prompts
- “An original friendly mascot for a bakery: a smiling croissant character with tiny arms, 3D animated film style, warm lighting.”
- “An original mascot for a fitness app: an energetic kettlebell character with a headband, glossy 3D.”
- “An original mascot for a plant shop: a cheerful potted cactus with big eyes, soft clay style.”
- “An original mascot for a coding school: a small round robot with a laptop, pastel colors.”
- “An original dog mascot for a pet groomer, fluffy white fur, wearing a tiny bow tie, 3D render.”
Always create original characters. Do not ask for, or imitate, famous cartoon characters or brand mascots.
Keeping a mascot consistent
- Save a detailed character description and reuse it word for word.
- Use character or image reference features where available.
- Generate a character sheet (front, side, three-quarter view) first.
- Use editing tools like Gemini to put the same mascot in new poses. See Nano Banana prompts.
