Quote posts are simple, but simple done badly looks cheap. A well-designed quote post is one of the most shareable formats for coaches and creators. Here’s how to make them look premium.
Start with a great line
Your own original insights beat famous quotes. Pull lines from your videos, podcasts, client sessions and captions. Keep them under 20 words when possible.
If you use someone else’s quote, attribute it accurately and verify the source; many popular quotes are misattributed.
Typography rules
- Use one strong font for the quote, large and readable.
- Use a smaller, simple font for attribution.
- Break lines at natural pauses, not mid-phrase.
- Emphasize one key word with weight, color or italics.
- Keep generous margins.
See font pairings in the best Canva fonts for social media.
Layouts
- Centered minimal: quote in the middle, plenty of space.
- Left-aligned editorial: large serif text aligned left with a thin rule.
- Photo plus quote: your photo on one side, quote on the other.
- Tweet style: a clean card resembling a text post with your name and photo.
- Bold color block: big text on a bright brand color.
Make them recognizable
Use the same layout and colors for every quote post. Over time, followers will recognize your posts before reading your name. Add your handle small at the bottom.

Write a better caption
Don’t just repeat the quote. Expand on it: the story behind it, how to apply it, or a question for your audience.
