Your LinkedIn banner is prime real estate. It’s one of the first things people see on your profile, yet many professionals leave the default background. Here’s how to design one that tells visitors what you do.
Size and safe area
Design at 1584 x 396 pixels. Your profile photo covers part of the left side, and the visible area differs between desktop and mobile, so keep key text toward the center and right. Preview on both after uploading.
What to include
- Who you help and how, in one line.
- Proof, such as “Featured in” logos you’re allowed to use, or a key credential.
- A call to action, such as your newsletter, podcast or booking link.
- Brand colors and fonts.
Layout ideas
- Value statement: a bold line on a brand color background.
- Photo plus text: a workspace or speaking photo with text on the right.
- Offer banner: your book, course or podcast cover with a short line.
- Minimal pattern: subtle brand pattern with your tagline.

- Check on desktop and mobile; adjust if anything is hidden.
