How to Batch Create a Month of Social Posts in Canva

A practical system for designing 30 days of social media content in one afternoon using Canva templates, Bulk Create and a simple content plan.

How to Batch Create a Month of Social Posts in Canva

Designing one post a day is exhausting because you switch context every time. Batching, doing the same task many times in one sitting, is how agencies and busy owners produce a month of content in an afternoon. Here is the exact system.

Step 1: Plan the month (30 minutes)

Decide how often you will post, then assign each post a content pillar. A simple mix for a small business posting three times a week:

  • One educational post (tips, how-tos, myths).
  • One promotional post (product, service, offer).
  • One personal or community post (behind the scenes, customer love, team).

That is 12 to 13 posts a month. Need a framework? Read how to choose Instagram content pillars.

Step 2: Write everything first (60 minutes)

Open a spreadsheet or doc and write each post’s headline, supporting text and caption. Writing all of them in one go keeps your voice consistent and is far faster than writing inside Canva. AI can help: try our content calendar prompts and caption prompts.

Step 3: Choose your master templates

Pick one template per post type: tip post, promo post, quote post, carousel, story. Customize each once with your brand styles. These are your masters.

Step 4: Design in batches (60 to 90 minutes)

  1. Duplicate the tip master as many times as you have tip posts. Paste in all the tip headlines.
  2. Do the same for promo posts, quotes and so on.
  3. Swap photos last, all at once.

Working type by type means your brain stays in one mode and every post in a category looks consistent.

Use Bulk Create for repetitive posts

If you are on a plan that includes Canva’s Bulk Create, you can connect a spreadsheet of headlines, quotes or prices to a template and generate dozens of designs at once. It works best for quote posts, tip series, menu items and listings. Set up your template, add a data table with one column per text field, connect each field, then generate.

Step 5: Review and export (20 minutes)

  • Scroll through all pages at once to catch inconsistencies.
  • Check spelling, prices and dates.
  • Download all pages as PNG in one zip, named by date.

Step 6: Schedule (20 minutes)

Load everything into a scheduler such as Canva’s Content Planner or Meta Business Suite. See how to schedule posts with Canva.

Batching tips

  • Block the time on your calendar like a meeting.
  • Keep a running “ideas” note during the month so planning takes minutes.
  • Leave two or three open slots for timely posts.
  • Reuse your best performing posts with fresh visuals every few months.

Batching works best with a solid template system. Learn how to customize templates properly and see the full workflow in our Canva social media guide.
